Becoming a children’s author…

Marcy McKay grew up on a Minnesota farm surrounded by animals, the outdoors, and a lifelong love of storytelling. As a mom of four, she spent years singing a little lullaby about a frog. Somewhere between bedtime and giggles, Froggie became part of the family. After decades of nurturing kids through teaching, coaching, and raising her own, Marcy knew it was time to share Froggie’s story with the world.

A pencil sketch illustration spread for a children's book showing a lively woodland scene. On the left page, a beaver, a crocodile skateboarding on a log, a squirrel on a tree stump, a decorated deer, and a small bird perch among tall trees and lush foliage. On the right page, a rabbit hops through a meadow, a turtle crawls along the ground, and a small crowned frog (Froggie) stands near a tree stump, with another squirrel peeking from a tree. Text on the right page reads: "There once was a Froggie who lived in the woods. He had a lot of friends who lived in the woods.
